The Arc is one of France's 4 classic races and Europes major end of season middle distance flat race. Run on the first Sunday in October, it currently has a purse of 4million euro and is one of the most sought after crowns in the world. The 2008 renewal was won by French superstar Zarkava, becoming the first filly to win the race since 1993.
